Mensa in Italian means “canteen” and can also mean a big welcome table. It is a fair translation of our concept of simple and refined Italian cuisine. At Mensa, traditional Italian cuisine is combined with powerful Portuguese flavors, as guests are transported back in time to old childhood memories of coveted home-cooked dishes with each bite taken. Dine or lunch on the Mensa's terrace, with relaxing views and sounds over the hotel's swimming pool. Indulge in the fresh flavors of the Atlantic and Mediterranean, while our chef prepares a delicious and exquisite meal. For lunch, we suggest a drink from our wide selection of drinks, including our natural juices, paired with a light meal followed by a family dip in the pool. For dinner, discover our Italian menu and accompany it with a bottle of wine while admiring the stars in a perfect atmosphere for a romantic dinner.

 

OUR CHEF

Pedro Pancas, 35 years old, was born and raised in Coimbra. Inspired by the gastronomy of Baixo Mondego, he began his journey early, which he has always perfected until today. He graduated in Management and Kitchen Production from the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Coimbra and also graduated in Organizational Communication in the field of Marketing, since then he has worked at several renowned hotels and restaurants and is currently the Executive Chef of Mensa, where he imposed his signature in Italian gastronomy and with enormous distinction. In addition to Mensa, he is also responsible for all events held in Malibu Foz, such as weddings and baptisms, in which he stands out for the original quality of his dishes.

Winner of several awards, he recently won the Golden Diploma of the Tejo Gourmet Competition for Mensa.
